Dear friends,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to IAP-AAP CME 2007, from Dec 7th to 9th, 2007, in Bangalore. This CME course has been organized in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics with the aim to bring the two associations and their Pediatricians closer to one another academically and personally. The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) is the National Society of more than 16000 Pediatricians in India. Established in 1964, the IAP has been rendering yeoman services to children and Pediatricians in India. It offers various activities ranging from its Annual National Meeting to regional conferences and workshops. The IAP encourages research in Pediatrics and is actively involved with governmental programs on child health and protection of child consumers.

The IAP successfully hosted the 15th International Congress of Pediatrics in 1977 and the 8th Asian congress of Pediatrics in 1994, both in Delhi. Most recently, we hosted the 5th international congress of tropical Pediatrics in Jaipur in February 1999. We consider this occasion as yet another opportunity to subscribe to global child health through a process of international fellowship and scientific exchange.

The scientific program has been planned by the IAP and the academy with due attention to the combined nature of the audience from both countries. There will be didactic lectures on the first day and interactive dialogue and meet the expert sessions on the second day. The faculty includes eminent Pediatricians from the United States and India.

In addition to the 2 day CME course, there will be grand rounds in various Bangalore hospitals and field visits to community health projects on Feb 10th. Pre-registration to these events is required.

The CME course will he held at the IBC knowledge park.
Looking forward to meet you in Bangalore.

President,

Indian Academy of Pediatrics, 2007
